Este recurso hace conexiones entre la equidad en la salud y nuestro trabajo para prevenir la violencia sexual y de pareja íntima. Centra las historias de los sobrevivientes en las intersecciones del racismo sistémico, la violencia y la opresión. En él se estudian formas de crear capacidad individual y a nivel organizativo para hacer frente a la desigualdad en materia de salud. Y, ofrece un llamado a la acción para aquellos quienes están dispuestos a comprometerse con la equidad de la salud en su trabajo de prevención de la violencia de género.

Historically, the domestic violence (DV) field has separated services for adults and services for children and youth, rather than taking an integrated approach that centers the relationships between adult survivors and their children. The Family-Centered Toolkit helps programs envision and implement an integrated approach that supports parent-child relationships and families with a range of culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and developmentally sensitive services.

Gender-based violence organizations have a responsibility and an opportunity to support the survivors on their staff on their healing journey by creating survivor-centered workplaces that help staff stay employed and support their financial security and long-term safety. In the November 2021 TAQ, guest authors from FreeFrom outline actionable recommendations for how organizations can start building survivor-centered workplaces.

In order to address white supremacy and racism, movement leadership must recognize the historical contributions of women of color, create supportive equitable work environments that emphasize anti-racist practices, and maintain accountability structures. The opening session of NRCDV's 2021 Prevention Town Hall introduced and explored the concept of survivor-centered prevention. It allowed space for survivors to share their vision for prevention based on their lived experiences.
